Geoffrey Fafard - The Whistler of St Angelo

Geoffrey Fafard - The Whistler of St Angelo

I do not know Italian tunes br But this whistled song br It bears a sadness br That I hear and that I feel br The song is whistled to the setting sun br And the rising moon br I feel the strain and the pain br Of too mangy years of whistling br I can not see a face and never will br Its on the other side br Of a high stone wall br And it is moving, moving away br From me br - br The tune is in a minor key br Always a sad thing br And all of my chest is hollow listening br I need something now- a drink br And my hand trembles writing br The whistle grows faint but still I hear br Why does he whistle this dark song to me br The song gets darker br The sea gets bluer br I am a little shaken, a little fearful br And I cast down my eyes br And find protection br Chewing my fingers and nails br On trembling hands br - br There is a ghost shark in the harbour br And he whistles under water br Oh! so now there is a duet br And a plot br And I have fallen br For the oldest trick in history.
