David McLansky - Planting Bulbs

David McLansky - Planting Bulbs

The soft willow slowly blossomed, br With a gentle blush of red. br Your loving tender touch was felt, br As blazing sunlight reared its head. br br br You came into my life in springtime, br When fragrant blossoms showed their face. br The perfumed richness of their beauty, br Enthralled me in your warm embrace. br br br Then came the sudden storms of summer, br Testing Nature to repair. br The damaged petals of our loving, br The shaken trust in our despair. br br br Autumn breezes brought you closer, br As petals crumpled on their stalks, br Their withered beauty stood an omen br That murmured death along our walks br br br Star-filled nights, their brilliance countless, br As I breathed the chill night air. br At my lips your echo lingers, br Silence taunting, love beware.
