macaulay akinbami - Living to die, How Vain?

That we must be born and through burning paths traverse br And daily diminish a thousand thoughts demur br Waiting lots in spectacle of sorts in obscurity br Though rivalry pervades the quest with ebbing vigor br While mortals in searching spree for meats and mirth br br That a collective ignorance of few days br Dominates hearts, mind to the lost br Followed foolishly by all br Ooh grave, the doom in this path of multitude br br That in silence He watches as we fall br Helplessly to the errors of our ancient captor br While His gentle son awaits the willing br Who daily desire liberty br br That death must mock at our highest joy br To this same earth that we pride to walk br We shall someday succumb br How vain our life and time without the Ancient “Crying Wisdom”br br macaulay akinbamibr br
