William Wordsworth - To The Daisy (2)

William Wordsworth - To The Daisy (2)

BRIGHT Flower! whose home is everywhere, br Bold in maternal Nature's care, br And all the long year through the heir br Of joy or sorrow; br Methinks that there abides in thee br Some concord with humanity, br Given to no other flower I see br The forest thorough! br br Is it that Man is soon deprest? br A thoughtless Thing! who, once unblest, br Does little on his memory rest, br Or on his reason, br And Thou would'st teach him how to find br A shelter under every wind, br A hope for times that are unkind br And every season? br br Thou wander'st the wide world about, br Uncheck'd by pride or scrupulous doubt, br With friend to greet thee, or without, br Yet pleased and willing; br Meek, yielding to the occasion's call, br And all things suffering from all, br Thy function apostolical br In peace fulfilling.
