William Wordsworth - The Forsaken

William Wordsworth - The Forsaken

The peace which other seek they find; br The heaviest storms not longet last; br Heaven grants even to the guiltiest mind br An amnesty for what is past; br When will my sentence be reversed? br I only pray to know the worst; br And wish as if my heart would burst. br br O weary struggle! silent year br Tell seemingly no doubtful tale; br And yet they leave it short, and fear br And hopes are strong and will prevail. br My calmest faith escapes not pain; br And, feeling that the hope in vain, br I think that he will come again.
