Dennis Gobin - A Soldier's View

Dennis Gobin - A Soldier's View

A war begins when two sides falter br To come to terms on simple matters br When people cannot coincide br On certain objectives it's suicide br Imperfect minds come into dissension br The next move made is uncertain aggression br The first shot fired from bitterness and hate br The other side's willingness to retaliate br Innocent ones taken in violent action br The brave you pretend gives no satisfaction br Destruction surrounds you on every side br Fear begins to take the soldier's pride br When all you witness is wasteful deeds br In mind or flesh you're bound to bleed br They say in a war there are a number of heroes br For in the taking of lives that count is zero br For all the turmoil, misery and pain br Regardless of the outcome there is no gain br War is hell for all involved br When it is finished there is no resolve.
