Mother dear has left us br To go to her "Home on High", br Her little house is empty br But it’s memories can never die. br She asked God to end her suffering br When her pain was more than she could bear br She told us "goodbye" as if she knew br He would answer her last prayer. br Even tho’ her face showed marked suffering br The love of God shown in her eyes; br She knew the best this old world offered br Could not compare with "Paradise." br Her life just seemed to blossom forth br Like the flowers she loved so much; br Since she is gone they seem to fade br We know they need her touch. br She sacrificed so much for us br Through all our growing years; br When disappointments came a long br Her prayers were said through tears. br She over looked all our mistakes br No matter how bad they seemed; br And if success has come our way br Those sweet brown eyes just beamed. br She talked many things over with us br Before she went away; br She stressed, "be good to others- br Do something for someone every day." br She didn’t leave us a fortune br Like those you read about every day; br But she did leave the "Word of God," br Worth more than we can say.br br Laura M.
