Elizabeth Daryush - Flanders Fields

Elizabeth Daryush - Flanders Fields

Here the scanted daisy glows br Glorious as the carmined rose; br Here the hill-top's verdure mean br Fair is with unfading green; br Here, where sorrow still must tread, br All her graves are garlanded. br br And still, O glad passer-by br Of the fields of agony, br Lower laughter's voice, and bare br Thy head in the valley where br Poppies bright and rustling wheat br Are a desert to love's feet.
