Robert Louis Stevenson - A Good Play

Robert Louis Stevenson - A Good Play

We built a ship upon the stairs br All made of the back-bedroom chairs, br And filled it full of soft pillows br To go a-sailing on the billows. br br We took a saw and several nails, br And water in the nursery pails; br And Tom said, "Let us also take br An apple and a slice of cake;"-- br Which was enough for Tom and me br To go a-sailing on, till tea. br br We sailed along for days and days, br And had the very best of plays; br But Tom fell out and hurt his knee, br So there was no one left but me.
