Henry Clay Work - There Is a River We All Must Cross

There is a river we all must cross, br Thousands will pass it tomorrow; br Some will go down to its waters with joy, br Others with anguish and sorrow. br br Some will be welcom'd by angel bands, br Coming from over the river; br Others be borne by the current adown, br Where there is none to deliver. br br These shall land safely in Eden's bow'rs, br Wearing the white robes of pardon; br Those shall be cast on a desolate shore, br Far from the gates of the garden. br br These shall have voices to join the song br Ever from Eden ascending; br Those shall unite in the wailings of woe br Woe, that hath never an ending.
