Sir Rabindranath Tagore - The Gardener XXIX: Speak to Me

Sir Rabindranath Tagore - The Gardener XXIX: Speak to Me

Speak to me, my love! Tell me in br words what you sang. br The night is dark. The stars are br lost in clouds. The wind is sighing br through the leaves. br I will let loose my hair. My blue br cloak will cling round me like night. I br will clasp your head to my bosom; and br there in the sweet loneliness murmur br on your heart. I will shut my eyes br and listen. I will not look in your face. br When your words are ended, we will br sit still and silent. Only the trees will br whisper in the dark. br The night will pale. The day will br dawn. We shall look at each other's br eyes and go on our different paths. br Speak to me, my love! Tell me in br words what you sang.
