Robert William Service - A Little Prayer

Robert William Service - A Little Prayer

Let us be thankful, Lord, for little things - br The song of birds, the rapture of the rose; br Cloud-dappled skies, the laugh of limpid springs, br Drowned sunbeams and the perfume April blows; br Bronze wheat a-shimmer, purple shade of trees - br Let us be thankful, Lord of Life, for these! br br Let us be praiseful, Sire, for simple sights; - br The blue smoke curling from a fire of peat; br Keen stars a-frolicking on frosty nights, br Prismatic pigeons strutting in a street; br Daisies dew-diamonded in smiling sward - br For simple sights let us be praiseful, Lord! br br Let us be grateful, God, for health serene, br The hope to do a kindly deed each day; br The faith of fellowship, a conscience clean, br The will to worship and the gift to pray; br For all of worth in us, of You a part, br Let us be grateful, God, with humble heart.
