Bernard Shaw - Child Play.

Bernard Shaw - Child Play.

I see the children as they play, br The games I know so well. br I watch with delight every day, br As I listen to voices sweet as a bell. br br The cheerful cries fill me with joy, br Smiling faces tell all is good. br My heart goes out to every girl and boy, br And I would play with them if I could. br br From my armchair I watch in leisure, br Happy faces out side my window frames, br Yes I am content to see such pleasure br And wish that I could join in their games. br br The children take me back to the old days, br When I was young and filled with esprit. br Now I can only sit here and gaze, br Thanking Heaven that I can still hear and see.
