As I was walking br Down the narrow path. br I happen to notice up ahead. br There were briers on the pathway br Where I'd been told br The road was clear instead. br br Not having any alternative br To turn left or right. br No way of crawling over or under br Just looking and thinking br Of having to go through br Gave me such a fright. br br I had nothing to protect me br But the clothes upon my back. br As I bristled through the briers br I felt the thorns of life br In my flesh br Breaking from their veins with a crack. br br Then as the briers ended br The road was clear again. br And although I was wounded br I had the faith and confidence br To know br Soon the road would end. br br It wouldn't matter br How far I'd come. br Or just how long br The journey had been. br But it was the joy of knowing br The reward I'd receive at the end.
