I lay on your bench today looking up at the endless blue sky. br Not a cloud in sight, I couldn't pretend that you were drifting by. br No rainbow appeared, like early one dawn, sent to remind me I wasn't alone. br No ladybug flew down and landed on me to let me know you were watching. br I needed a sign, my faith is so weak, I think I listen but I can't br hear God speak. br I was gazing blankly, lost in my grief, when I heard a bird call out. br Soaring above me, just riding the drafts, was a beautiful hawk, br strong and graceful and free. br There was my sign, but I had to look up before I could see.
