Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - Mischievous Joy

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe - Mischievous Joy

AS a butterfly renew'd, br br When in life I breath'd my last, br br To the spots my flight I wing, br br Scenes of heav'nly rapture past, br br Over meadows, to the spring, br Round the hill, and through the wood. br br Soon a tender pair I spy, br br And I look down from my seat br br On the beauteous maiden's head-- br br When embodied there I meet br br All I lost as soon as dead, br Happy as before am I. br br Him she clasps with silent smile, br br And his mouth the hour improves, br br Sent by kindly Deities; br br First from breast to mouth it roves, br br Then from mouth to hands it flies, br And I round him sport the while.
