John Bunyan - Love Inducin Christian Conduct

John Bunyan - Love Inducin Christian Conduct

When understand my meaning by my words, br How sense of mercy unto faith affords br br Both grace to sanctify, and holy make br That soul that of forgiveness doth partake. br br Thus having briefly showed you what is br The way of life, or sanctity, of bliss, br br I would not in conclusion have you think, br By what I say, that Christian men should drink br br In these my words with lightness, or that they br Are now exempted from what every day br br Their duty is. No, God doth still expect, br Yea, doth command, that they do not neglect br br To pray, to read, to hear, and not dissent br From being sober, grave, and diligent br br In watching, self-denial, and with fear br To serve him all the time thou livest here. br br Indeed I have endeavoured to lay br Before your eyes the right and only way br br Pardon to get, and also holiness, br Without which never think that God will bless br br Thee with the kingdom he will give to those br That Christ embrace, and holy lives do choose br br To live, while here all others go astray, br And shall in time to come be cast away.
