Isaac Watts - Hymn 162

Isaac Watts - Hymn 162

Meditation of heaven; or, The joy of faith. br br My thoughts surmount these lower skies, br And look within the veil; br There springs of endless pleasure rise, br The waters never fail. br br There I behold, with sweet delight, br The blessed Three in One; br And strong affections fix my sight br On God's incarnate Son. br br His promise stands for ever firm, br His grace shall ne'er depart; br He binds my name upon his arm, br And seals it on his heart. br br Light are the pains that nature brings; br How short our sorrows are, br When with eternal future things br The present we compare! br br I would not be a stranger still br To that celestial place, br Where I for ever hope to dwell br Near my Redeemer's face.
