Isaac Watts - Hymn 41

The same; or, The martyrs glorified. br br Rev. 7:13ff. br br "These glorious minds, how bright they shine! br Whence all their white array? br How came they to the happy seats br Of everlasting day?" br br From torturing pains to endless joys br On fiery wheels they rode, br And strangely washed their raiment white br In Jesus' dying blood. br br Now they approach a spotless God, br And bow before his throne br Their warbling harps and sacred songs br Adore the Holy One. br br The unveiled glories of his face br Amongst his saints reside, br While the rich treasure of his grace br Sees all their wants supplied. br br Tormenting thirst shall leave their souls, br And hunger flee as fast; br The fruit of life's immortal tree br Shall be their sweet repast. br br The Lamb shall lead his heav'nly flock br Where living fountains rise; br And love divine shall wipe away br The sorrows of their eyes.
