Isaac Watts - Hymn 31 part 1

Isaac Watts - Hymn 31 part 1

Condescending grace. br br Psa. 138:6. br br When the Eternal bows the skies br To visit earthly things, br With scorn divine he turns his eyes br From towers of haughty kings. br br He bids his aweful chariot roll br Far downward from the skies, br To visit every humble soul br With pleasure in his eyes. br br Why should the Lord that reigns above br Disdain so lofty kings? br Say, Lord, and why such looks of love br Upon such worthless things? br br Mortals, be dumb; what creature dares br Dispute his aweful will? br Ask no account of his affairs, br But tremble and be still.
