Gary Scott Gebert - Forever Sleep

Gary Scott Gebert - Forever Sleep

The warmth of heavy cover overshadows me br The moonless dark shines on my eyelids br My mind only grasping at the small things unknowing br As I escape my life br br As if unearthed from a deep crypt br I groan at the daylight br The weight on my numb limbs answer back br With the weariness of my dreams br br Day after day you strike me with your words br The warm blood of my feelings pours out br Empty once again of my self-worth br Feeling the crack of madness knock against the barricade br br The armor is so heavy, so worn br Without it would be suicide, I ponder that br Was that the dream of Plath? br To expose ourselves to what we fear in life…or death? br br In my head I play out our days br I open my compassion and essence to you in mime br I try to feel your impervious heart br And I find it’s better to…forever sleepbr br Gary Scott Gebertbr br
