Herbert Nehrlich - For My Hawk And Playmate - To My True Kindred Spirit - Part II

Lenchen's reply to Hawk: br br Come dance with me br Through heart tangled bracken, br Brambles, nettles, br The pace never slackens. br Sharp thorns may rake br Our thoughts, flying wild br With Hawk and Wolf br Fey untamed child. br Ripe berries stain br Heals fresh wounds gathered br Our quickening gains br In spirits un-tethered. br The steps we dance br To the tune of the soul br from dawn of creation br As two made whole. br br Hawk answers: br br I am coming, my lovely br and I reach for your hands. br You say bracken and brambles br and nettles and thorns, br let us dive into trouble, br see the devil's own horns. br Slip and slide on the rubble br in this wild, untamed shambles br our faces are merry br our pulses are racing. br As we share our first berry, br drink its juices together, br then continue to tumble br through heavenly heather. br And the mountain we're facing br desires us humble br yet the eden of summer br is giving us fragrance. br As we hear our own drummer br and keep dancing like vagrants. br In the end we fall silent, br standing close under trees, br know that man is no island, br ask what each of us sees. br And our eyes tell the tale: br What our souls can create, br as they -hearty and hale- br choose the other as mate. br Could it possibly fail? br Would the spirits destroy br that which happened by chance? br With our hearts full of joy br we continue to dance.
