David Keig - When Hitler Came To Breakfast

When Hitler came to breakfast br He just sat quietly there br With that silly little moustache br And that dark and greasy hair. br br He didn't really talk much br And he had a frightened look br We tried to jolly him along br By practising salutes. br br I really hate that Brooks man br He finally exclaimed br With that awful movie br Now remind me what's its name? br br We all sat stunned in silence br No one dared to speak br We'd got it from the video store br Only just last week. br br Oh we've never seen THAT movie br We said in unison br But then we gave the game away br By humming that one song. br br You know the one i mean i said br The best one on the score br I don't know that one at all he said br Can you sing a little more? br br Can you imagine me and Hitler br Singing in our hall br Singing 'bout his regime br And his eventual fall. br br 'Springtime' warbled Hitler br Was the time i liked the best br In those freezing bunkered winters br I wore itchy woollen vests. br br I might just like that movie br It shows a side of me br That Eva may just once have glimpsed br But others didn't see. br br I suddenly was woken br And where this breakfast it had been br The room now was quite empty br And I awoke as from a dream.
