One day I found a quarter. br It was right there on the floor. br I put it in my pocket br just in case I found some more. br br My Daddy took me with him br and I took my quarter, too. br We went to do some errands br then we were going to the zoo. br br I could buy my Daddy something, br something special for the yard. br Or maybe somethin' fun to do br cause he works very hard. br br We walked down to the corner br and we saw a blind man there. br He was sitting in a wagon br with a rag tied in his hair. br br His clothes were kind of ratty br and his face was sort of sad, br but he said hello to everyone br just like he's really glad. br br I looked up at Daddy. br He saw the blind man, too. br I put my quarter in his cup br and the blind man said, 'Bless You! ' br br I'm glad my Daddy wasn't mad br I gave away my money. br He said he was real proud of me. br Boy, grownups sure are funny.br br C.J.
