Herbert Nehrlich - Cats

I do not like them, not at all. br Their feline nature drives me mad, br in Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall br our cat, named Lucy made me sad. br She had the personality br of an anointed queen, br but every day reality br showed that she was quite keen br to mingle with the common folk br and rabblerouse all night, br dead mice and birds, oh what a joke, br were waiting in daylight br on our breakfast table often br half-chewed and bloody skins to boot, br she'd munched on them to slightly soften br the insides of this yummy food. br She scratched all items in the house br and poked her claw in Rover's eye, br she would have left had not the spouse br decreed to have another try. br A training program was begun, br the two spent hours learning rules br and I came home to utter fun br of cat behaviour, we were fools. br And then one day the vet said 'sorry', br at twenty she was very old, br 'I'd say this is her final story', br it left the family dead cold. br br And then she died on Sunday night, br was buried near our Bunya Pine. br For weeks I didn't feel quite right, br and there she sleeps, that cat of mine.
