Linda Gregg - Plums Failing Well

Linda Gregg - Plums Failing Well

So what if plums fall br out of the tree, to lie br squashed and decomposing br on the earth? So what if br the only attention they receive br is from the ants and birds br who find something in them br to feed from still, br all spayed and color changed? br If they could breathe, br do you think they would say br more than so what? br This is good, to live br to the end as something br to get taken. What was br the ripeness for anyhow? br Why should chromosomes blink br and twitch inside the seed, br the pit at the middle, the vast br earth-shaped center of all br of this? So what if we lie br here or there as pith br in the cold night where the owl br hoots at the stirring that will br compute into the dark color br of that calling and the ground br we leak into, br small piece by small piece.
