Scarborough Gypsy - Sauerkraut

Scarborough Gypsy - Sauerkraut

A spiteful fish one minute br Slippery the next br Though my heads above the water br It’s feeling quite perplexed br br From what I’ve seen he’s talented br So why then does he need br To snap at all the other fish br And bite them ‘till they bleed br br I have a sneaky feeling br That it’s all a clever act br In order to get noticed br And by Cod it works – In fact…. br br He swims with such commotion br Amongst this fluid site br And for his own amusement br He makes us feel like shite! br br So with a pinch of salt I’ll toss br His comments to the shore br And worry not he’s still annoyed br He didn’t win the war br br I’ll serve him on a platter br This cantankerous old trout br And sprinkle him with parsley br To serve with sauerkraut br br 2005 - A tongue in cheek poem written about a good friend who frequents this site.
