Is Education A Business br br Is education a business br Or should it even be? br br This is a question, which has always bothered me! br What is the purpose of educating students? br br Should we pay more to teachers br Or could we do something even more prudent? br br If you listen to some administrators the problem is money br When asked they will say, ' There simply is not enough to have any! ' br br br If this were truly the problem the cure could be br Raise our already high taxes to what they really should be. br br However, money may not be solely the answer br The question moreover they said coldly may actually be, br ' We simply aren't teaching the students enough, br They are not passing the tests! ' br br To which the brilliant educational bureaucrat sadly laments.' We need more money to teach to the Test! ' br br Remember John Dewey, the man who organized the library, he also lend theories to straighten up our schools. br br His applied theories were successful, br His students succeeded, br But was it his message that we heeded? br br Dewey taught us that if we taught for learning, br We wouldn't look back, br Instead we would look forward, br And every press on, everyone succeeded all over the town.
