I called out to darkness 'Swallow me whole' br muffle my senses and strangle my soul.' br 'But I cannot claim you.' darkness replied br 'You bow at the feet of the one crucified.' br br I called out to death 'Oh come claim me please' br bury my body now, rest me in peace.' br 'I can't take you.' he said as I stood at his door br 'You worship the one who's escaped me before.' br br I called out to solitude, 'Come be with me' br take me away now, I want to break free.' br 'I long to accept you.' solitude cried br 'But you're seeking the one who is now glorified.' br br I called out to love 'Please leave me alone' br take my compassion, turn my heart to stone.' br 'I cannot.' love answered, with tears in her eyes. br 'You follow the saviour whose love never dies.' br br I called out to hope 'Oh please help me survive' br give me the strength I need, keep me alive.' br But hope turned from me and her radience grew dim br 'Only your God can help, turn back to Him.
