Herbert Nehrlich - The Village Idiot -Or Modern Political Correctness

....and thus it came to pass, br the one they called the 'village idiot', br a gentle, friendly, somewhat pudgy br but always smiling growing teen. br They had deprived him of O-two br the oxygen his body needed br when he was born in that small house. br One day, the constable was making br his usual rounds through dusty streets, br he heard a the words 'you village idiot', br so loudly uttered by a round br and quite colossal hunk of jello, br 'I should not think in those mean terms', br he told himself, but then again, br it helped him with his vital duties. br Now, quite annoyed that someone would br use this foul language here today, br he placed his cuffs around her wrists br took her away into the jail. br The judge found that the term was not, br as people had assumed them lately, br correct in useage so he found br the tub of lard so very guilty br (that's how he thought of her inside) , br and on that sunny day in May br he threw the book of rules at her, br which landed on her eighteen chins br and spun her on her hefty heels br right into jail for her comeuppance. br She never knew and never learned.
