Paul Lester - Booklice

Paul Lester - Booklice

These creatures never need to read br To be intimate with literature. br br Harmless enough in their way, br They make little nervous jumps over sentences. br br For them paper mould holds more interest than words. br They'd rather argue over a particle of glue br Than the sense of a text. br br Their interests lie on the soiled surface of the page br They punctuate merely by their presence. br br In essence booklice are tiny cattle br That will graze on the pages of a book br Long after anyone else has ceased to care or to look.
