James Mills - Little Star

James Mills - Little Star

A zillion miles of night br caress the little star. br One amongst countless br it shines, knowing only itself, br bravely blazing. br br For it knows no other way. br br A zillion years of light br burst from the little star. br Wished upon, sung to, br followed, all its' shining life. br br Little star. Little star. br br Probing eyes lit on it; br photographed and spectroscoped it. br Analyzed; they deemed it -ordinary, br tagged it with a strange, forgettable name. br Pronounced it long ago br Dead. br Long ago dead, they said. br The little star, br dead. br br Light in the night, br bright dreamy light, br white and a little blurred. br Dead? Absurd. br br Something in us br may have died. br But br not our little star.
