Ivy Christou - A Caterpillar

Ivy Christou - A Caterpillar

Today a Caterpillar was dancing on my plant’s leaf, br Green with white strips, br Its panoply shining in the sun, br I guess you would not call it pretty. br br When I was child I was afraid of them, br I could not imagine how the majestic butterfly could emerge br from a plain larva that impresses no one. br As I grew older I’ve started to understand br our world a bit more and became a dreamer.. br And it was at this point of my life br That I’ve realised that br all I’ve ever been was a caterpillar, br Waiting for the glorious moment to transform br To something beautiful br loved by everyone. br br But the more I think about it the more br I prefer the humble larva. br Because she has potential, br Ambitious dreams br And a wonderful future. br She has the will to live! br While the admired butterfly has nothing to live for, br She has seen and done it all. br Now she can only wait for Death.. br br I transfer the caterpillar on my palm, br I observe it explore the new environment with excitement, br Again the will to live dominates, br She will not give up until she conquers br My palm, br The Garden, br The Universe. br br I am myself a caterpillar.
