The navigator smiling said: br Two simple rules apply br To those of us who travel br Or who wonder at our lives br br First, no matter what the journey br How difficult or far br To know where you are going br You must first know where you are br br The navigator does this br With tools that he has found br That work to his advantage br When circles going round br br The second rule, less obvious br Is that it’s sometimes best br Even when a sign points East br To get there going West br br For everywhere are circles br And as they are all round br There are many ways that you will see br To get where you are bound br br So unless you want to wander lost br Midst heavens, sea or mind br The knowledge of just where you are br Is the answer you must find br br Some often seek no answers br Accepting what they are br Distracted by the trinkets of life br Admiring of the Stars br br While we plot their every motion br Stars are the picket fence br Ready to be taken br When we should find the sense br br But they neither are the answer br To know just where we are br Although the same components br Stars know not Earth from Mars br br It’s essentially requisite br That we first look in not out br For that is where the answers are br To know what life's about br br So when we would explore the Seas br The heavens or our minds br We should apply the rules that help br With circles, stars and signs br br We then shall find the answers br Wherever we shall look br For answers come from questions here br Just as words do make a book.
