Dr John Celes - Sonnet: On School-life

Dr John Celes - Sonnet: On School-life

First day we stepped into a school was great- br In uniform with school-bag, looking cute! br We could not walk or run and had a slate; br We learnt to read and write and be not mute. br br We learnt the Alphabets: count one to ten! br We ate so happily when school-bell rung; br Our teachers taught us how to hold the pen; br We can’t forget those days when we were young. br br Our knowledge improved slowly every day; br Afilled with joy in hearts, we went to play; br Our teachers taught us manners and to pray; br The fees- our parents somehow tried to pay.
