For years we have gone hunting. br I've loved sitting next to him in his deer blind br or sitting quietly in my own. br br Now that Boomer came into our lives br I see all living animals as having feelings br and I can't stand the thought of hunting. br br Boomer is our bassett hound. br He thinks he is human. br I sometimes think so too. br br The way he has shown me br that he feels things like we do br has changed me forever. br br Now, all I can think of is that br if a dog can feel emotions like we do... br can a deer? br br Are they afraid? br Do they know why we are sitting there? br Do they hate me? br br I have to explain this to my husband br and pray he understands why br our hunting days together are over.
