Herbert Nehrlich - Friday Is Limerick Day

There once lived a poet named George br near the Falls of Carnarvon Gorge. br He ran out of ideas br and to us it appears br that he secretly started to forge. br br So he copied from Chaucer and Suess br which of course was a blatant abuse. br When he went to the printer br in the middle of winter br he'd manufactured his noose. br br In the bookstore he sat, smugly signing, br many copies, the people were lining br all the streets from the park br until way after dark, br with the moon and the streetlights shining. br br At the stroke of the midnight hour br from the clock of the old Limerick Tower br through the door wandered Suess br with an ancient recluse br and for George the whole world went sour.
