Seán O Muiríosa - Poetry

Words, words that we feel, br they are omnipresent, br round and gripable br like a football perhaps br or large and crumbly br like mountainous boulders. br We shape them smooth br or rough, our own brand br unique and tough. br br Each and every day br we are the moulders. br rising suns, igniting fires, br and melting ice, br poets stand proud - br we are the holders br of this priceless gift br in a world that thinks br it can buy anything. br br Never dismiss the power br of the pen in your hand. br It creates light, br remarkable darkness br and innumerable br ventures in between. br Unicorns and golden br sunsets, powdered snow br perhaps in early May. br br Poets stand proud, br and proclaim your gift br of words to the world. br Show them ferocity br and awe and wonder br like a great fork of white br lightning striking br a raging and ragged sea. br Strike hard, without fear.
