Sylvia Chidi - A Prisoners Word

Sylvia Chidi - A Prisoners Word

A Prisoner’s word br Life in jail sucks br I have hit bottom rock br If only I had known br How difficult it would be br To cope in one of the toughest prison br I would have hesitated br And thought again br br Thrown in Jail br Rejected bail br Sniffed out by the law as guilty br Had I known br I would have done things quite differently br br Now a society system recorded failure br For an outstanding outrageous behaviour br Hustling for cigarettes br And bursting for drugs br An atlas of cells br With polluted smells br br Two more years to pay br And I keep wondering br How did I end up this way? br Words were perilously playing in my brain br When I held up that bank br Before then I was hardworking and frank br Until from my job I got sacked br With my football team I got axed br From my lover a jilt letter was faxed br br I became depressed br Not very strong br But I was totally wrong br This is not where I belong br Unfortunately I am all holed up.
