Amanda Lukas - Orange Leaves and Blue Sky

Amanda Lukas - Orange Leaves and Blue Sky

I must confess that this is my first time br seeing the leaves change in fall. br I laid on my back br under a rather large tree today, br and what a marvel it was. br He laid next to me, br yet was overly consumed br by the fact that he might get dirt in his eye. br For me, it was a much br greater feeling. br I stared in amazement br at the oranges leaves br and contrasting blue sky. br It's funny how a moment like that br could make me realize how wrong br we are for each other. br While I was busy enjoying br the feeling of the cool ground br that was my matress br and staring up at the leaves until they lost br their definition and blurred together, br he only seemed to wiggle and squirm, br as if he was annoyed or embarassed br of committing such a childish act. br Today, I learned the reason br why he tells me that I'm immature. br It's because I am an artist, br I see beauty in everything. br I am a poet br who reads more than just words. br I find joy in taking br the time to smell the roses - br to be amused by the little things. br And he has only found br a path by following br the others.
