Ivy Christou - One flower away from the sun

Ivy Christou - One flower away from the sun

If I had a flower within me br It would instantly die. br Hidden inside me br There are frozen rooms with no residents, br Dusty stairs that only lead to dark lofts, br Blind windows pretending to face the sun. br Flowers can not survive br In an imperfect world. br br And if I had it in my hands br I would strangle it with br All the strength left in my weary body. br I would take off its colourful petals br And leave it grey and naked br To see if it can survive in an incomplete form. br And I would step on it so many times br Until it was one breath away from death, br Until I could finally relate to it. br br Then and only then I would pick it up br And take care of it with br my remaining compassion br and my outstretched love. br br Watching it recover would be as relieving br As seeing my heart mend br step by step.
