Many make their vows to the church br To marriage and to honest work. br Some more sucessul than others br Even for this people will make you hurt. br br They will say you think you're something br When all you did was try. br They will have you all alone br They want you to sit and cry. br br Some give their lives to the Lord br And somehow forget to live it. br But when it comes down to your wrong br They won't let you forget it. br br We wonder why so many br Expect so much from somone else. br But leave their own religion br On some old dusty shelf. br br But deep inside we know br That prayer is what they need. br And hopefully they will understand br That God is love indeed. br br You can't let idle gossip br Cause you to put on a show. br For then those who will observe br They sinner they would not know. br br So keep your head up high br And remember to wipe your foot. br For no one desires applause br From someone whose full of soot.
