This older woman br who never seems to be quite dressed br or have any clothes to match br or seems awake br in a regularly br disheveled way… br br lives across the highway br from the matchbox size Post Office in Kansasville, Wisconsin br population 235 br br she walks in everyday at 7: 05 am br to check her mailbox br which is always empty br br because her husband br who is either a early rising farmer br or an up all night alcoholic br always picks up the mail br before she arrives br br everytime I see her br she always asks me br “How is the car running? ’ br “Is your wife doing fine? ” br “Do you still have a job” br “How is your son doing? ? ? br “He is so cute…” br acting as if our lives br were advertised in the local newspaper br br I do not know her name br I have yet to see anyone else br besides me, br talk to her br and the most that you can get br out of me that early in the morning br is “that’s right” br and why I say that br I haven’t figured that out yet….
