Linda Hepner - Today is the Day of Finding

Today is the day for finding things again. br Tom Tiddler gives out pennies in his grove br And Ali Baba comes out from his den; br The world’s becoming one wide treasure trove! br There is no end until the last Amen. br br Vienna’s woods hide many secrets, and br In paintings Henry Koerner gave us clues, br The quarries overgrown with trees and sand, br His parents walking side by side, the views br Of two receding figures hand in hand. br br They’ll not return, but paintings that he took br Us to admire, the glorious, goldlit Klimt, br Hanging for all upon its brazen hook br With every dazzling curve and angle crimped, br Returns so the unquiet slain can close their book. br br And three years after burial is found br The salt cup I desired all my life: br Cellini’s golden sculpture double crowned… br The gods of sea and earth, of man and wife, br Their feet entwined one to the other bound. br br A Rembrandt surfaced with a telling tale br Of greed, her collar changed from cloth to fur; br With time the truth will out, and will not fail br To prick our conscience though we may prefer br To say we’re owners of some Holy Grail. br br A Michelangelo, a Rubens in the fray, br A Donatello, under layered paint, br All are discovered on this Finding Day br As if God’s face turned back, without restraint br Smiling and handing us his great bouquet br br Of blossoms blooming on our sleeping street br Singing a song renewing an old prayer: br Arise my love! Let fly your earthbound feet, br Be like the petals on the flowering pear br And sing Amen! The cycle is complete! br br LRH br 1.23.
