Herbert Nehrlich - God's Weeds

God's garden is called Paradise, br creation came from there. br He watches it with shining eyes br and marks each crevice where br br a pesky weed dare raise its head br he sends a lightning strike br and soon the weeds are truly dead br (which none of them do like) . br br One day, the Devil, flying by br gave Him a friendly nod, br and, being brave, he asked Him why br those weeds would bother God. br br So, God, who never spoke a lie br said he had found that weeds br were rather clever, even sly br but that their daily deeds br br were unacceptable as such br due to their sense of freedom. br And since they didn't pray so much br he really did not need 'em.
