He screamed at me and screamed at me br When I was just a lad br He threw his considerable anger my way br It left me very sad br br I'd hide away all alone br In deep and dreadful shame br A father who screams at his only child br Inflicts such terrible pain br br I felt alone and full of fear br Of the fire his voice would bring br My fear then spread it's tentacles br To almost everything br br As my life progressed- br A rage built up in me br Others knew of my anger br Somehow I couldn't see br br My father died when I was young br And of this I need to tell: br My mother and I were both relieved br To be rid of the living hell br br The effects of all the anger br Took it's toll on mother dear- br She drank herself to death br My guess it was from fear br br It's now been several decades br Since that vile strife br Ending all the rage and fear br Became the meaning of my lifebr br Ray Andrewsbr br
