K. Jared Hosein - (Loss) The Grave of My Child

K. Jared Hosein - (Loss) The Grave of My Child

It had been a long passing away. br A death that crackles the hardest stone, br He sank into the bed of this bay, br A death silent and alone. br br He once frolicked through the sleepy field br Waking the insects on the grass. br Bare-foot, to the seashore yield br To dance with a moonlit lass. br br He was my child, my dear, br Who never let it pass him by, br Always sat at the edge of that pier, br Watching the Samurai sunset sky. br br Now I stand here over his grave, br Now realising he is dead. br And there are fireflies over the wave, br Spelling a poem left unsaid. br br They wait for him, br Forever, br Thinking he's just asleep, br Waiting, waiting, br Thinking, br Soon, br He'll rise br From the ocean deep.br br K.
