Mary Nagy - My Gift From Mother Nature On Mothers Day

She knew br all I was hoping for br was a little time with you all. br She knew br if the day was bright and sunny br he would be out riding his bike br and the girls would be busy soaking up the sun. br You would inevitably have work to do br whether it was changing the spark plugs br on one of our half-dead vehicles br or mending the fence br to keep our squirrel-crazy bassett hound from escaping. br She knew br I would probably plant flowers by myself. br I love planting flowers br but, I can do that anyday. br Today I wanted to spend with those br who have made me a mother. br She knew br if she dropped the temperature br down into the 40's br you would all surely br seek the warmth of the house. br She knew br that a light drizzle br of ice-cold rain br would ensure your company br throughout the day. br As I curl up on the couch br with all of you surrounding me br and I listen to the predictable bickering br over the popcorn bowl, br I silently thank her br for giving me the gift I wanted most br for Mothers Day. br My family. br I'm glad she knows me so well. br Thank you Mother Nature.
