Amberlee Carter - 'slanting into light'

Amberlee Carter - 'slanting into light'

I suppose death is something br our bones are born knowing, and br no matter how much you truly love yourself, br it's a secret they will never tell your heart. br br And I guess time is best measured br by the length of my hair- br and while the body br of such immense invisibility is br so very infinite, br I can count the days quite accurately br by the names br of every lover still hiding in there. br br And I think that all of this is somewhat br a useless nonsense- br but it's beautiful because br it's all we have. br br One day while we wait in line at a coffee shop, br the world will end- or maybe br I'll just assume it's the world when actually br it'll just be my sails empty of wind, br and the beating in my chest replaced br with a a sign that reads: 'no vacancy' - br On that day, br at that very moment, br if the world has not slipped away br into the second circle of Dante's hell, br let it remember it was you I loved the most.
