Cecelia Weir - My Mountain

Cecelia Weir - My Mountain

The mountains were high br Raised beyond the sight of man. br Far above the clouds br Elevated past the height of sound br As I climbed br I dared look down. br From things I involved br Things just passing through br Things that were placid br Some things that were good. br Some things brought more pain br Some brought distraught duties. br Some brought joys to life br Some brought nothing to gain. br Some were most evident br More than I could handle br I'd taken on more than I should br But I'd climbed much farther br Much farther.... br Than even I... br Than even I thought I would. br br Someone offered a complaint br About its hard rock edges. br I was glad to see them br Forcing my fingers br Into its deep narrow crevices. br Then even the mountain br Begin to shake and rumble br Then from nowhere came the rains. br First the drizzle br Then the downpours br And the loud thunder. br I'd become rapidly aquainted br To the excellence of this mountain br I had made it a door. br A door to teach patience br A door to show strength br A door exibiting character. br Then I saw my foot slipping br I felt I was loosing it. br I was loosing it.. br My Mountain lost its grip.
